War Memorials
Glasgow has many memorials dedicated to those who fell in the Great War.
All over Glasgow and through Scotland and beyond, thousands of memorials were erected to remember the dead of the First World War.
These war memorials placed in public spaces, schools, business and churches are a heartbreaking glimpse into the losses suffered in every community in Glasgow and beyond.
As part of our city's contribution to the centenary remembrance, Glasgow school pupils have been uncovering the human stories behind the names on the city's community war memorials. This project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to help communities across Scotland mark the centenary.
